FOSTER YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY COMMITTEE

MAY 11,2005

 

 

In attendance: Mary Jill Freed,  David Freed, Jennifer Lim, Marina Kotsitis, Jane Warren,  Suellen Hozman, Brian McGrain, and Loretta Malvin.  The board joined us after their meeting was finished.

 

1.         A date of July 23 from 4 to 7:00 PM. was agreed upon.

 

2.         The location will be the Foster Center grounds.

 

3.         The event will be potluck.  Everyone will bring a dish to pass, a beverage, their own utensils, and a chair or blanket.

 

4.         There will be a table to sign in and receive a name tag.  Loretta volunteered to be in charge of the name tags.  She also has plastic runners to cover the tables.  John volunteered a tarp for the table.  We will also have a box for donations at the table. 

 

5.         We decided to ask the board for funds to make fliers to announce the event.

 

6.         We will have a sign-up sheet for the dish to pass, grills, and tables.  Dave, Mary Jill, and Jennifer will work on a spreadsheet.

 

7.         Suellen will look into getting jugglers to perform during the event.  She also volunteered to talk to the fire department about having a truck at the event.

 

8.         We need someone to take digital photos for the web site.  Brian volunteered to bring a camera.

 

9.         At the next general meeting we would like to set up a network of volunteers to distribute fliers in each neighborhood.

 

10.       We will post fliers at the Foster Center and ask neighborhood businesses to allow us to post a flier.  Jennifer volunteered to design the fliers.

 

11.       Vince volunteered to pay for the fliers. 

 

12.       We will ask neighborhood businesses to attend the block party.

 

13.       We discussed having a raffle or White elephant sale.  Vince, Suellen, Jane, and Marina volunteered to work on soliciting raffle items.

 

14.       Games were discussed.
