Quality Of Life Meeting 1/10/07

In attendance: Jane Warren, Marina Kotsifis, Suellen Hozman and guest, Loretta Marvin,

Mary Jill and David Freed.

1. Discussion of December Holiday party:

a) We were happy with the music performed by Tom and Mary. We would like to invite them back next year. It was suggested we request a few Hanukkah songs in addition to the Christmas numbers.

b) We collected $185 in donations which were given to Colleen.

c) We thought the name tags worked well.

d) We were happy with the location and food at Gone Wired and agreed to have next year’s event there.

2. We discussed the date of the summer picnic and decided to leave it in July.

3. Loretta reported that the Membership committee is working on a flyer for our

organization.

4. Marina reported that there is progress on a grant to have meeting announcement signs made.

5. We decided to plan an event at the Allen Street Market on Wednesday, June 27. We will meet at the market and have dinner at Lamai’s booth. We could also publicize the July picnic while there

6. We decided to plan an event at the El Oasis, the Mexican food trailer on Michigan Ave., Saturday, May 12. Everyone should bring a lawn chair. We discussed trying to find appropriate music.

7. The next restaurant event will be at Lazeez on Friday, February 2 at 6:30 PM. Loretta will make the reservations.

8. Jane suggested we make up postcards with the group logo on them for members to use to send notes to neighbors commenting on attractive gardens, Christmas lights, home improvements, etc. It was overwhelmingly approved. There was a discussion about someone keeping a record of the notes going out. We agreed to bring it up at the next members meeting to see if anyone was interested.

9. We agreed to hold off on yard sales and plant exchange events until our membership increases.

10. Our next meeting will be Monday, February 12 at Gone Wired 7:00 PM.
