Quality of Life Committee

May 23, 2006 Meeting

 

 

In Attendance: Mary Jill Freed ( co-chair), Brian Barr, Suellen Hozman, Jane Warren,

                         Marina Kotsifis, and Marti Wheeler.

 

  1. Discussion of an August get together at MagdalenaÕs:  Marti will check on possible dates.  She will also find out if we could eat as a group early and stay for their event afterward, possibly a Sunday evening.

 

  1. Discussion of a neighborhood garage sale the weekend of the Car Classic and August 12:  We decided to ask $5.00 per location if we do the advertising.  We could possibly use the parking lot of Capitol Imaging.  We could put the announcement in the picnic flier.

 

  1. Continued discussion of the July picnic: 

 

    1. Brian will E-mail Nancy Parsons about an announcement for the picnic in the ENO Newsletter.  He will also draft the flier.  There are 1300 houses in the FYN area.  Brian will check with Cheryl Risner of the Lansing Neighborhood Council to see if they will print the flier again this year.
    2. Suellen will try for jugglers again.  She also volunteered to teach the kids to juggle.
    3. Marti will try to get a donation for hot dogs and hamburgers.
    4. We will check out acoustic musicians from MagdalenaÕs for possible performers.  Payment would be a good time and food.
    5. We will ask for volunteers of grills and tables at the next general meeting on June 21.

      4.   The next Quality of Life meeting will be 7:00 PM,  June 27, at Gone Wired.
