A basic pie crust made with butter.
In a food processor mix:
1 1/2 | cups flour |
---|---|
1/2 | teaspoons salt |
Add:
1/2 | cup unsalted butter, cold, cut into pieces |

and process with repeated pulses until it resembles coarse meal.
With the machine running slowly add through the feed tube:
approx. 1/4 | cup ice water |

and mix till the dough pulls away from the side of bowl.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.
