Cut into thin strips across the grain and place into bowl:
1 1/4 | lbs beef tenderloin, boneless chicken breast or firm tofu |

2 | tablespoons minced onion |

1 | teaspoon minced garlic |
1 | teaspoon ginger |
2 | tablespoons kecap manis |
1 1/2 | teaspoons minced lemon grass |
2 | teaspoons ground coriander |
1 | teaspoon chili powder |
1 | tablespoon brown sugar |
2 | tablespoons peanut oil |
1/2 | teaspoon salt |
Pour over meat, stir well and let marinate 4-6 hours.
Thread meat onto presoaked bamboo skewers and grill over charcoal until just cooked.
